Research Activity

My PhD project is entirely developed within the framework of the JUNO experiment. In particular, the focus of my research are solar neutrinos, geoneutrinos and the neutrino mass ordering (NMO). Since the construction of the JUNO detector is not completed yet, at the moment I am currently working on the sensitivity studies in order to understand the JUNO potential in measuring neutrinos from the Sun and the Earth and to determine the correct NMO. These studies are performed by using the official JUNO Monte Carlo framework to simulate the expected spectrum - signal events for solar neutrinos and other background spectra. This will be fitted with thousands of toy MC samples by means of the JUST fitter, a software developed by our group precisely for solar neutrinos analysis and sensitivity, which now I am contributing to further develop for the geoneutrinos studies and the NMO analysis.
