Papers: - a paper - "Kaon pair production in proton-proton collisions"- has been submitted to PRC on October 9th. - we have got the "second" review reports on the PRL paper - "Lineshape of the lambda(1405) hyperon measured through its \Sigma^(o)\pi^(o) decay". As it happened in the first review process, one referee is strongly in favour of its publication in PRL, whereas another referee thinks that the paper does not help in answering the major question whether the lambda(1405) is one or two quantum states. The ET has prepared the new version with much more clear statements about the measurement of Crystal Ball experiment and asked Editor of PRL for the possibilities to reconsider their decision, which is possible in frame of the appeals' procedure. Re-submitted version is available from the ANKE web. - we have a number of papers: "Schottky", "deuteron break-up", "pppi0",... which are in queue for the discussion over the next weeks. 2. Beam-Time: we had a rather complicated, but finally a quite productive one week beam-time on the experiment "d(pol)p->He3 eta" (Exp.#157), which was finished today and now we are preparing for the next experiment (Exp. #158, pp->pp pi0) with the polarized proton beam. This will start tomorrow with a MD week. The sequence of the steps for MD week, as well as plans for BT week is available from our home page under the folder "Beam time". Shift-plan for this experiment will be available soon. 3. PAC: we have submitted for the coming PAC session (#34, Nov 26/27) two documents: - allocation of approved 2 weeks of BT for "omega production in pd collision"; - and the new Proposal+Beam request for the "Measurement of the depolarizing proton-electron cross section using co-moving electrons". All those are available from our home page. 4. CANU/FFE workshop: we have already announced that the CANU meeting and 2nd COSY FFE workshop in this year will take place in Bad Honnef on December 17-19. Please, suggest your contributions for CANU meeting. 5. DPG meeting: the next DPG Spring meeting will be held in Darmstadt, March 10-14, 2008. The deadline for submission of the short abstracts of the talks is November 26 (!). Please, inform us whether you would like to contribute. 6. Annual Report: we have started to collect the articles for the highlights of the IKP Annual Report 2008. Please, send your suggestions. 7. Ph.D thesis: we would like to CONGRATULATE Kirill Grigoriev with successful defence of the Ph.D thesis. We want to take this opportunity to thank the Gatchina target group for their contribution to the success of ANKE! Best regards, Andro
