Dear colleagues,


let me inform you on the following:

1. Papers:
 - a paper - 'Determination of target thickness and luminosity from beam 
   energy losses' - has been published in Phys. Rev. ST-AB, 11, 052801 (2008)

 - the final version of PRL paper (including the author list) - 'Observation 
   of inverse diproton photodisintegration at intermediate energies", 
   prepared by EDITORIAL team (V. Komarov and others), is available from our
   home page and intended for submission on 3-rd of June.
   Thank you for the valuable comments you made on this paper !

   Before the submission, please, have a look at the paper again. In case 
   of further remarks from your side, please contact the ET immediately.


2. PAC#35:
   during the last PAC meeting (#35) the following beam times have been 
   approved/allocated for the next COSY beam-time period for ANKE/PAX:

Exp. #                                     Allocated numbers of weeks 
#158.2 (ANKE)     "p(pol)p->pp pi0"    -    1 week
#192.0 (ANKE)     "p(pol)d->ppp pi-"   -    3 weeks 
#191.0 (ANKE)     "pp->ppK+K-"         -    3 weeks 
#190.0 (ANKE/PAX) "machine acceptance" -    1 week 

Please consider the information as preliminary and to be formally confirmed 
by the official minutes of PAC which will follow in approximatly 3 weeks. 
The conditions will be specified in the minutes.  

The new beam-time schedule (August 2008 - April 2009) will be worked-out
and announced as soon as possible.  

The next PAC meeting is scheduled in 1/2 December 2008.

3. PhD:
   Our student from Lanzhou, Xiaohua Yuan, has successfuly defended his 
   PhD thesis last week in China and we would like to CONGRATULATE him !
