This is a natural next step in view of the fact that the hadron physics program at COSY has been completed by the end of 2014. The current urgent task is to prepare the movement of the D2 magnet from its position in the ring to a place outside the COSY tunnel in order to use it for the ExB deflector development connected with R&D for the JEDI project. This movement needs to be prepared; with this mail we would like to inform you about our plans and ask you to respond to the following questions: (i) Is/are there (an) argument(s) which speak against the D2 movement? (ii) Is/are there (a) part(s) of the D2 detection systems, including electronics, which belong to your group (outside IKP-2), which you would like to secure for future use? (iii) Are there any further points which we need to consider for/during the dismount? We will wait for your feedback until April 11, before we will take any measures. The expected time window for this activity is summer shutdown of 2016. Best wishes, Hans Stroeher and Andro Kacharava
