Dear colleague,

Let me inform you on the following:

1) As you already are aware the deadline for the submission of the 
Proposals & Beam-requests is April 10. 
We discussed internally within the IKP and at the COSY coordination meeting 
today, which Proposals & BT requests will be possibly submitted for the next 
PAC (#31) meeting from the ANKE collaboration.

Below is the list of the suggested Proposals & BT requests:

- Status report on the PIT + BT request for further commissioning (146.2).
  1 week beam-time already has been approved from PAC #30 and this needs
  approval from the PAC for allocation in fall of 2006 within the new BT 
  request  (responsible: F. Rathmann) 

- 1 week beam-time already was approved and allocated from the previous PAC
  for the d(pol)p ->(2p)n CE reaction at higher energies (125.2).
  Allocation of this given beam-time in fall of 2006 formally needs new BT request 
  (responsible: A. Kacharava)

- The commissioning of ANKE Silicon Tracking Telescope (STT) system.
  Preparation of New proposal & BT request, 1 week beam-time in fall of 2006
  (responsible: R. Schleichert)

- Investigation of the reaction d(pol)p -> He3+eta at ANKE.
  New proposal & BT request, 2 weeks beam-time in fall 2006 (?)
  (responsible: A. Khoukaz)

- Study of the K- and Phi nuclear potentials in pA reactions at ANKE (147.2)
  BT request for the approved 5 weeks (PAC #30) in the first half of 2007 (?)
  (responsible: M. Hartmann)

- Investigation of the reaction p(pol)p -> (pp)1_s_0 + pi0  at ANKE.
  New proposal & BT request for 2 weeks (?) beam-time in fall 2006 (?)
  (responsible: A. Kulikov)

- LOI for "Spin Filtering" at ANKE (responsible: F. Rathmann).


2) The next ANKE beam-time on the cell-test with the stochastically cooled
   proton beam of momentum of 1500 MeV/c (D2 at 8 degree angle)
   will start at 23 of March and will end on 29 of March.

3) PLB pi0 paper (S.Dymov et al.) has been accepted, congratulations! 
   (ICE cream by CW  :) )
   The PLB paper on the determination of the deuteron analysing powers has 
   been resubmitted.

4) The draft version of the Phys. Rev. Lett. paper on "The Near-Threshold
   Production of Phi mesons in pp Collisions" will be available from our
   home page in the next week. Please, as usual, read this draft and send your
   comments until 27 of March to Michael Hartmann (m.hartmann@fz-juelich.de).

5) The individual contributions for the Annual Report of the IKP has been
   submitted and now all of them are available from the ANKE web.

6) Next week, during March 20-24, the DPG Spring meeting will take place 
   in Muenchen. Good Luck for the talks !
