Dear colleagues,


let me inform you on the following:

1. Papers:
 - a paper - 'Energy dependence of forward 1S_0 diproton production 
   in the pp->(pp)pi0 reaction' - has been published in PLB 661, 22 (2008).
   CONGRATULATIONS for the Dubna group and whole ANKE collaboration!
 
 - a few papers are in preparation and will be announced separately.

2. Beam-Time:
   now we are in the preparation of 1(MD)+3(BT) week beam-time for the proposal 
  'precision measurement of the eta-mass' (EXP.#187, Spokesperson A.Khoukaz), 
   which will start next week with the COSY beam preparation on March 3. 
   This is the first measurement with a special requirements for COSY/ANKE and
   please, consider to get all components of the ANKE system ready in time.
  
   The sequence of the steps for MD week, as well as plans for BT week is 
   available from our home page under the folder 'Beam time'. 
   The first draft of the shift-plan (only first 2 weeks !) is also available.

3. PAC:
   we are open for internal discussions about which the new Proposals/Beamtime 
   requests from ANKE/PAX will be presented at the upcoming PAC (session #35, 
   May 26/27). At least formal BR for 'skipped' experiment 'pi0 production with
   polarized proton beam' (Exp.#158, A.Kulikov)) should be sended. 
   In addition it is the idea, to submit the new Proposal/BR on double polarized
   measurements of pp->pppi0 reaction with the cell target in one block with 
   already scheduled measurements for dp charge-exchange reaction 
   (Resp.: S.Dymov, A.Kacharava). It was also discussed internally to present 
   the new Proposal/BR on kaon-pair production in pp collision below the
   phi-production threshold (Resp. M.Hartmann).

   Please, keep in mind that DEADLINE for the submission of 
   the documents is middle of April !

4. DPG meeting:
   I would like to remind you that during March 10-14 the DPG Spring 
   meeting will take place in Darmstadt, where from ANKE around 10 talks 
   are accepted. Please, take care about the preparation of the oral talks 
   as well as posters in time and in good shape. 
   As usual, there will be the test talks in next week.

5. Annual Report (URGENT):
   Final DEADLINE for the submission of the contributions is March 10 !
