Dear colleagues,

let me inform you on the following:

1. Papers:
 - the final version of PLB paper (including the author list)- 
  "Energy dependence of forward 1S_0 diproton production in pp->(pp)pi0 
   reaction", prepared by EDITORIAL team (Vladimir Kurbatov and others),
   is available from our home page and intended for submission by the end 
   of this week.
  
   Before the submission, please, have a look at the paper again. In case 
   of further remarks from your side, please contact the ET immediately.  

 - a paper submitted to PRC (Y. Maeda et al.,) - 
   "Kaon pair production in proton-proton collisions"- has been reviewed
   and accepted for publication without any request of change! 
   CONGRATULATIONS for the ET for a great job and the whole ANKE collaboration!

 - we have received the review reports on the PLB paper - 
   "Lineshape of the lambda(1405) hyperon measured through its
   \Sigma^(o)\pi^(o) decay". The first referee is enthusiastic to publish 
   with minor editorial corrections while the second one requires work to
   satisfy some of his comments. Those who are interested in the reports, 
   please, contact Colin or me. 

2. PAC:
   during the last PAC meeting (#34) the following beam times have been 
   approved/allocated for the next COSY beam-time period for ANKE/PAX:

#175.1 (ANKE)     "pn->d omega" -               2 weeks +(1 MD)  
#187.0 (ANKE)     "eta mass measurement" -      3 weeks +(1 MD)
#181.0 (ANKE/PAX) "pe cross section" -          2 weeks +(1 MD)

   We have informed PAC, that we will exchange the cluster target with the 
   ABS target during the summer shut-down (August 2008), and therefore we are
   looking for ways to schedule the "pi-zero experiment" with the polarized 
   proton beam and the cluster target. 

   The final beam-time schedule will be available next week.
   The next PAC meeting is scheduled for 26/27-th of May.

3. CANU/FFE workshop (17/18-19 December):
   It has been decided to have only one talk for each big installation 
   (for ANKE-> A.Kacharava) at the CANU meeting in this year. 
   There are 14 talks from ANKE at the FFE workshop and the agenda can be
   found soon on IKP home page (under folder "Events").
   There will be the test talks before the meeting. 
   
4. Forward Look:
   Let me remind you, that the annual meeting "Forward Look" will take place 
   on 14-th of December, at IKP. After the talks a small party will be organized.
